As a Dishwasher & Kitchen Assistant, you play a critical support role in ensuring the smooth operation of service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, speed, and organisation in our kitchen and service areas.

Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Cleaning

• Manage cleanliness and organisation of all dishware, glassware, and utensils

• Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently

• Hand-wash delicate or specialty items as needed

• Maintain clean and organised dish pit and kitchen areas at all times

• Handle kitchen returns efficiently and ensure proper cleaning protocols

• Assist in trash removal and recycling duties at the end of shifts

• Deep clean kitchen equipment and surfaces as needed

Kitchen Support Duties

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed

• Maintain organisation and cleanliness of kitchen storage areas

• Support with receiving and storing deliveries

• Help with kitchen setup and breakdown during service transitions

• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are clean, sanitised, and properly stored

• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation in kitchen areas

Stock & Operational Support

• Restock clean glassware, dishes, cutlery, and kitchen utensils in designated areas

• Ensure kitchen stations are well-supplied with clean tools throughout service

• Assist in setting up and breaking down event/pop-up setups

• Monitor and notify management of any maintenance issues with dishwashing equipment or supplies running low

• Maintain cleanliness standards in all back-of-house areas

Teamwork & Standards

• Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless operations

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, even during busy periods

• Contribute to a tidy, efficient, and safe working environment for all staff

• Uphold all hygiene and safety standards at all times

• Follow proper food safety and sanitation protocols

Skills & Attributes

• Strong work ethic and ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure

• Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards

• Team-oriented with good communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to step into different support tasks as needed

• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry during a shift

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
